Thank you for you interest in contributing to WERLA!
WERLA is generously supported through grants and donations from The Beaird Family Foundation, The Biedenharn Foundation, Change Fund, and private donors. Collaborators include the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations, Bass Pro Shops, Sams’ Town Casino, The Sample Foundation, Community Foundation of North Louisiana, Louisiana’s Sci-Port A Science Center, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park, and many more.
While monetary donations are always needed to help our facility succeed, we recognize that donations can be so much more than financial contributions. Donations of your time, talents, unused items, or simply sharing our mission and success stories are all greatly appreciated and go a long way in helping us achieve our goals! We couldn’t succeed without the helping hands and support of our many Louisiana communities. Below are some different ways you can help WERLA grow.
Like and follow us online to stay updated on our most recent rescue stories and share our mission with your friends and family.
Funds donated allow us to purchase medicine and food, invest in facility maintenance and growth, and increase our educational outreach in Louisiana communities. Donations can be made to our paypal account at werlainc@gmail.com.
Report wildlife when you find an animal in need of care. Keep WERLA in mind when your friends and family come across an injured or orphaned wildlife animal.
Gather unused items like old newspapers, towels, stuffed animals, and expired meat products (only for certain bird species) to donate! These care items are regularly needed to make sure our animals are comfortable and fed.
Volunteer at the WERLA facility or represent our organization at community events throughout the year. We are actively seeking Board members with a love for wildlife to help our organization grow. If you think you might be a good fit, we’d love to get to know you!
In the future we look forward to offering educational presentations for schools, libraries, local businesses, community groups, nature centers, and public community events. Please contact us if you would like to be added to our list for future educational opportunities.
